Social Work Intervention in Drug De Addiction in Reference to Haryana Dr. Satish Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work, Bhagwan Parshu Ram College, Kurukshetra Page No.: 20-26 ![]() ![]() ![]()
One of the main issues today is the drug addiction among young people in the Haryana valley. The same is true for drug addiction treatment. With this essay, an effort has been made to learn more about how much people in the Haryana valley are aware of the problem of addiction, how to address it, and which organisations and agencies are available to help treat or rehabilitate drug users there. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of India launched the Drug De-addiction Programmed (DDAP) in 1988 with the goal of treating SUDs. De-addiction centres (DACs) have been established in government hospitals through the DDAP, with the central government paying a one-time financial grant and the state governments covering ongoing costs. The creation of a "drug abuse monitoring system" to track drug use patterns and user profiles among those seeking treatment in DACs is another important area of work. The results of monitoring and evaluation procedures indicate that the current system of inpatient care and shared accountability between the federal and state governments is only partially successful.

One finds that within psychology creativity has largely been conceptualized as a property of the individual - in terms of S-R associations, cognitive operations, personality traits, or mental ability. At the same time, there has been awareness regarding overemphasis on the individual in the study of creativity (Amabile 1983a; Simon

With a focus on the incorporation of campaign and advocacy view points into its curriculum, pedagogy, and societal involvement, this study explores the changing terrain of social work education in India. In the past, social work education has been essential to tackling social injustices, strengthening underprivileged groups, and promoting structural change. Campaigns and advocacy initiatives are essential for influencing policy changes, forming public opinion, and galvanizing support for a range of social problems at the local level. The study analyzes the degree to which various campaign viewpoints are incorporated into Indian social work curricula and assesses how well they prepare students to tackle urgent social issues. It delves deeper into the connections between grassroots initiatives and academic institutions, showcasing successful case studies that show how these partnerships may have a revolutionary effect. Significant obstacles still exist in spite of these encouraging intersections, such as the inability to incorporate real-world campaign experience into academic curricula, the absence of exposure to actual advocacy campaigns for students, and the lack of funding for campaign-based training. In support of a more practice-oriented approach that closes the gap between theoretical understanding and field-based advocacy, this study emphasizes the urgent need for improvements in social work education. This study attempts to offer practical insights for educators, policymakers, and practitioners by conducting stakeholder interviews, a thorough evaluation of the body of existing literature, and an analysis of effective campaign formats. It highlights how critical it is to match social work education to the ever-changing landscape of social movements in order to produce a new generation of social workers who can effect meaningful change.

This thesis seeks to provide an anthropological elucidation of the 'doing' of marriage, offering an ethnographic account of marriage from the perspective of the subjects. The central concern is to understand how individuals invest the sphere of sentiments with autonomy, potentially recasting the structuralist definition of marriage proposed by anthropological literature (e.g., Levi-Strauss, 1969). By emphasizing the 'doing' of marriage, this research aims to access the inner life of marriage, encompassing the subjective characterizations of the imagined and lived relationship between individuals brought together by marriage rules of alliance and exchange. Through fieldwork, respondents described the doing of marriage, which entailed familiar features such as alliance, marital codes, and the heterosexual imaginary. However, their answers to the question 'what is marriage?' centered around a single central idea: nibhaana. This concept highlights the significance of understanding marriage as a lived experience, rather than solely as a structural institution.

Prison narratives have been pivotal in shaping nationalist discourse, especially in colonial contexts. These autobiographical accounts, penned by political prisoners, serve as powerful tools for resistance and identity formation. This paper explores the intersection of prison narratives and nationalism, examining how these texts articulate the struggles for freedom, inspire collective action, and construct postcolonial identities. By analyzing key narratives from India, South Africa, and Ireland, the study investigates how these voices of freedom transcend their immediate contexts to become enduring symbols of resistance and resilience.

The institution of marriage has undergone significant transformations in recent years, driven by shifting societal values, changing demographics, and evolving individual expectations. As a result, the traditional notion of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman is no longer the only dominant form of union. The rise of same-sex marriage, increasing rates of divorce and remarriage, and growing acceptance of non-traditional family structures have all contributed to a redefinition of what marriage means in contemporary society. Furthermore, the decline of traditional gender roles and the increasing economic independence of women have led to a shift away from marriage as a solely economic arrangement, and towards a more emotional and personal understanding of partnership. As the landscape of marriage continues to evolve, it is essential to examine the complex and multifaceted nature of this institution, and to consider the ways in which it is adapting to the changing needs and values of individuals and society as a whole.
